Role: Tech Writer
We seek a creative writer and reporter who wants to bring their passion for bicycle equipment and technology to a worldwide audience. The ideal candidate lives and breathes bikes, loves tinkering, and can translate their zeal into writing, audio, and video. An underlying knowledge and interest in this beat is more important to us than degrees or formal qualifications.
We are a member-funded media company. Your job will be to produce content so good and so compelling that people will pay for it – if that sounds like something you can do, keep reading.
Job Responsibilities:
- Produce world-class, in-depth reviews of the products our members and audience care most about
- Stay on top of tech- and equipment-related news and trends
- Provide unique, high-quality coverage of significant events
- Appear on podcasts and, occasionally, video
- Represent Escape Collective at tech events worldwide
Experience and skills:
- Broad background knowledge of bicycle tech, including road, mountain, gravel, cyclocross, and urban disciplines
- Excellent mechanical aptitude and experience (shop experience preferred)
- Comfortable expressing opinions and capable of backing them up with evidence
- Strong writing skills with a distinctive voice
- Excellent grasp of English grammar and usage and an ability to produce clean copy and hit deadlines
- Proficient in still photography
- Comfortable on video and podcasts
- Experience using Adobe editing products (Photoshop, Lightroom)
- Experience working in content management systems (CMS), particularly WordPress
- Comfortable working with a global team across multiple time zones via tools like Slack
- An infallible sense of personal integrity
- Please note that while relevant experience is highly preferred, it’s also not required

Location
Fully remote with a preference for Colorado’s Front Range. Frequent travel is likely.

Role: Insert your useful skill here
Sometimes you don’t know what you’re looking for until it smacks you in the face. This is your opportunity to do some smacking.
Do you have some skillset that doesn’t fit the roles above? Are you a master of the cycling-related haiku, or a creator of Roubaix-themed operatic arrangements? Do you take beautiful photos but only upside down? Do you just have a really good idea we should hear?
Drop that idea in a doc and upload it. Maybe upload some proof that you can execute on said idea as well.
Job Responsibilities:
- Who knows
Experience and skills:
- Run what ya brung
